good, Christian girls

I had an epiphany of sorts just now, and I felt the need to alert the world. As I was looking at a random girl's profile on facebook, it dawned on me as to why shifty guys would go to a fundamentalist type church to pick up girls. I always thought they must be crazy, seeing as I never thought to do that, and because it seems like way too much work (and subsequent pain) for such a small reward. I don't want to make any huge statements about this, but I do think it's true at least some of the time: Guys prey on girls in these kinds of churches because the girls are typically stupid/naive. Why is that? Well, their upbringing did it to them. The guy is kind of just seeking that thrill of having a girl fall madly in love with him, and the girls are easy targets since they might be attracted to a "sweet" guy that is a tad rebellious. Next thing they know, they're heartbroken and/or pregnant.

I could talk a long time on this subject, but for now it's good enough to simply say that I understand better now as to why in the world someone would do such. Of course, there's the thrill of controlling someone (causing them to be corrupted), but I don't see that as the main drive in most guys. There are many other reasons other than that even, that all come together to form a guy's drive. Girls being vulnerable is one of the more major reasons, though. Also, as you've already noticed, in the church's/family's/father's quest to keep his daughter pure, he accidentally crippled her and made her more likely to get in a bad situation than she normally would have been. But isn't that what always happens? It seems like every time I try to prevent something, my plans backfire and it happens anyway. It makes sense that we should be seeking to be content, and that winning isn't how hard you can hit, but how hard you can take a hit and keep going. This life is about perseverance over evil, not about avoiding it. As Robert Frost said, "The best way out is always through." Heed the mighty Frost's words, oh weakling! (and have a good rest of the day :) )
